FUEGO TELEVISION COVERS FASHION WEEK’S CODE PURPLE EVENT
Latino Television Network Covers Humanitarian Fashion Event During NY Fashion Week

New York, New York and Miami, Florida (January 19, 2012) – Latino television network Fuego Television, has teamed up with ING Activewear to cover New York Fashion Week and the Code Purple Event.

The Code Purple Event is closing out Mercedes Benz Fashion Week on February 16, 2012 with an enormous show on the USS Intrepid Air, Sea, and Space Museum. The extravaganza is full of musical and dance performances, which includes three designers’ Code Purple Event runway collections. The event, a collaboration between ING Activewear and Touch the World, will showcase the Moskeeto Armor, a mosquito repellent garment that acts as protection from mosquitoes and the deadly diseases they carry, like malaria. Both ING Activewear and Touch the World are responsible for the development, shipping and distribution of the Moskeeto Armor to Uganda, Africa.

Robin Crespo, visionary of the Code Purple Event and designer of the Moskeeto Armor, wanted to spread the word about the vision and purpose of the garment and invited Fuego Television to cover the event to show the significance to the Latino community: “I’m excited to give Fuego Television full access to the event. Being Latino myself, I believe that this is an event that addresses a global need; a need of unity and no one group should be exempt from an opportunity to take part.” Andre Mullen, business director for Fuego Television agrees: “The Latino community has a lot to contribute to humanitarian causes and we count it an honor and a privilege to use our platforms to promote not only this event, but this cause. We’re excited.”
